Denkyira Obuasi assemblyman washes his hands off death of Maxwell Mahama
- Assemblyman of Denkyira-Obuasi has denied claims that he was behind the death of Major Mahama
- Family of the fallen soldier are calling on government to establish a monument in his honour
Lawyers for the assembly man of Denkyira-Obuasi, William Baah have argued against claims that he facilitated the mob action against the fallen soldier, Major Mahama.
This argument was made during a trial of some alleged murderers of Major Mahama who are feared to have administered mob justice against the fallen soldier. So far, close to 20 persons have been arraigned before the courts for their engagement to the killing of Major Mahama. The family of the late soldier have thus impressed upon government to ensure that a monument is specially established across the country in honor of the soldier so as to prevent other cases of mob justice in the country.
Mob justice remains one of the major challenges in Ghana today as government has put in place practical measures to bring the issue of mob justice to an end.
