The suspect, identified
as Mallam Latif, is said to have taken the amount from his victims to
enable him purchase some items for the spiritual exercise of retrieving
gold buried in the earth by their older generations.

But after taking money, Mallam Latif failed to retrieve the treasure as
agreed. He tried to cover up by giving them GH¢1,500,000 and other
currencies like US dollars, Euros and CFA which all turned out to be
fake.

provisional charges of defrauding by false pretense and dealing in
